Beck Youth Inventories - depression, anxiety, anger, self-concept

Youth Emotional Wellbeing Screener (YEWS)

This screener helps identify emotional wellbeing concerns in children and young people aged 8–18. It covers mood, anxiety, and self-perception — three areas that significantly affect how young people function at school, at home, and with others.

This questionnaire can be completed by the young person themselves, or by a parent, teacher, or carer. If completing it about someone else, answer based on what you have observed, not what you assume they feel.

Three areas covered:
  • Mood & Energy: How you feel day-to-day — energy levels, enjoyment, hope, and overall mood.
  • Worry & Anxiety: How much you worry, feel anxious, or avoid situations because of fear.
  • Self-Perception: How you see yourself — your confidence, self-worth, and how you feel about who you are.

30 questions · approximately 8–10 minutes
